Privacy Policy

PitchPeek ("PitchPeek", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile app that helps you discover campgrounds and campsites in Ontario, read and write reviews, and save your favourite spots. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PitchPeek, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information
When you sign in, we create an account for you. Depending on the method you choose, we receive:
- Sign in with Apple — your name and an email address (which may be Apple's private relay address) as shared by Apple.
- Sign in with Google — your name, email address, and profile picture as shared by Google.
- Guest mode — no name or email. We create an anonymous, device-local account so you can browse and save without registering.
You can set or change a display name and avatar inside the app.
Content you create
- Reviews, ratings, written tips, and "vibe" tags (e.g. Drains Well, Buggy, Windy).
- Photos you choose to attach to a review.
- Saved campsites, planned trips, and bookings you record.
- Profile details such as your display name, avatar, XP, level, and badges.
Location information
With your permission, we use your device's location to center the map near you and show nearby parks and campgrounds. You can use most of the app without granting location access, and you can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Device & usage information
Like most apps, we and our service providers automatically receive certain technical data — such as device type, operating system, app version, language, crash logs, and basic usage events — to keep the app running, fix bugs, and improve features. Our advertising and analytics partners may also use device identifiers as described below.
Purchases
If you make a purchase or subscribe, the transaction is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Our purchases partner (RevenueCat) tells us the status of your purchase so we can unlock the right features.
2. How we use your information
- Provide and operate the app — accounts, maps, reviews, saved spots, and XP/badges.
- Show your reviews and contributions to other campers.
- Personalize your experience (e.g. nearby parks, your saved list).
- Display advertising to support the free app.
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot problems.
- Communicate with you about your account or support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How information is shared
Public content. Reviews, ratings, tips, vibe tags, attached photos, and your display name and avatar are visible to other users of PitchPeek. Please don't include anything private in a review.
Service providers. We share information with the trusted vendors listed below strictly so they can provide services on our behalf.
Legal & safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Third-party services we use
PitchPeek relies on the following providers. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they process data:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and photo storage (our backend / hosting). Privacy policy

5. Location & photos
Location. We request location access only to power map and discovery features. You may decline, and the rest of the app keeps working.
Photos & camera. When you add a photo to a review, the app asks to access your camera or photo library. We only upload the specific images you select. Uploaded photos are stored with your review and are publicly visible.
6. Data retention & deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing us at hoonblizz@gmail.com. Some content (such as published reviews) may be retained in anonymized form, and we may retain limited records as required by law.
7. Your rights & choices
- Access & correction — view and edit your profile in the app.
- Deletion — request account and data deletion by contacting us.
- Location — manage location permission in your device settings.
- Ads — adjust ad personalization through your device's privacy settings (e.g. Apple's App Tracking Transparency or Google's Ads settings).
Depending on where you live (for example, under PIPEDA in Canada, the GDPR in the EU/UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have additional rights over your personal information. We honour valid requests — just reach out.
8. Children's privacy
PitchPeek is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit and access controls on our backend — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use of PitchPeek after changes means you accept the updated policy.
